As a way of celebrating the Feast of St. Francis, please call 815.464.3880 to register or email info@portforprayer.org and join us for the Dedication of the Cosmic Walk that was built on our grounds this past summer. The Cosmic Walk is a walking meditation that offers us a glimpse into our sacred origins by connecting the work of scientists from around the world with the on-going spiritual search we have to better understand who we are and how we came to be. You will meet the artist who captured in watercolor 25 significant moments in this unfolding story of the universe, giving us a glimpse of the Sacred Mystery that has been at work for more than 13 billion years. Along with her, we will honor this “sacred stopping place” on our grounds with a special program, ritual of dedication, food and festivity. (Come to the Port rain or shine!)
Facilitators: Sister Corlita Bonnarens will be joining with the staff here at the Port in facilitating the program for the afternoon. She holds Masters Degrees in Art and Spirituality, and is on the staff at Mercy Retreat Center in St. Louis, Missouri where she is spiritual director and facilitator of retreats and workshops around art and spirituality.
