LENT:  SEASONS OF THE SOUL… “FROM WINTER TO SPRING”
“Winter is a contemplative season, a time for gratefully reflecting on what has come before and quietly hoping for what is coming.   Spring blossoms with renewal. . . “  Mark Buchanan, Spiritual Rhythm:  Being with Jesus in Every Season of Your Soul
Our Lenten journey begins in the “contemplative season” and ends in the “season of renewal”.  We invite you to join with us as we travel this path of transition and transformation together.

LOOKING INWARD:  HONORING WINTER and LENTEN GIFTS
We may find winter a time of darkness, cold, and inactivity, and Lent a season that seems long and focused on hardship or soul-searching.  We can, though, take a lesson from nature to go inward in the Lenten season and tend to areas within we may neglect in busier times.  We might discover it to be a time we can appreciate the fireplace warmth of prayer, reflection, pruning, waiting expectantly that prepares the soil of our hearts for inner growth and the coming of new life.  Come and realize the gifts of both these seasons through input, time for silent and guided reflection, activities and prayer.
Fee:  $25
Facilitator:   Janice Keenan, OSF is a West Peoria Franciscan and Retreat Program Manager and Spiritual Director at the Port.   She has facilitated retreats for a variety of ages, individuals, and groups.
