Music is one of the few documented activities that engage both sides of our brains simultaneously, so when we pray through music we are literally “giving it our all”. We open ourselves to the Spirit moving in the music and in our very being and are “in awe”. This morning session will engage us in listening to a variety of music, allowing ourselves to be moved by it, and sharing our experiences and prayer together. Fee: $20
Facilitator: Janice Keenan, OSF is a West Peoria Franciscan and Program Manager at the Port. She is a spiritual director and has facilitated retreats for a variety of ages, individuals and groups. She plays guitar and piano, has directed youth and adult contemporary choirs, and is grateful for the blessing of music in her life and the part it has played in her spirituality.
